complaint

I just wanna rail against modern life here. Why do I have to schedule my get-togethers with friends at least one week out? And then if something unexpected happens and they have to cancel, it could be another month before it's rescheduled. I realize everyone's busy and that's just the way things work but what ever happened to being spontaneous, to saying "wanna come over tomorrow?" Look, it's hard enough for me to pick up the phone. If I initiate and keep getting the reply that everyone is so busy, it just starts to feel depressing. I don't actually think they're making an excuse because they don't wanna see me. I fully believe they're busy. But that doesn't make it much better! WHY is everyone so busy? I hate how people run around, doing errands, shuffling people here and there. It makes me crazy.
